Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide timely, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients across the lifespan
• Perform rapid assessments and prioritize care in a fast-paced ED environment
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document thoroughly
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
• Stabilize critically ill or injured patients and initiate appropriate interventions
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up care
• Maintain accurate, timely electronic health record documentation
• Participate in unit-based improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Hawaii or eligible for Hawaii licensure
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
• Prior emergency department experience strongly preferred
• Strong assessment skills and ability to prioritize care in high-acuity situations
• Current immunizations and ability to pass required facility background checks
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a patient-centered attitude

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and rapid patient assessment in emergency settings
• Experience with trauma protocols and emergency procedures
• Skilled in IV therapy, medication administration, and critical care basics
• Proficiency with EHR documentation and clinical charting
• Strong clinical judgment, situational awareness, and multitasking ability
• Compassionate bedside manner and clear communication with families and team members
