Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate bedside care and assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
- Monitor and document resident conditions and report any changes to the nursing team
- Support safe mobility and transfers using appropriate body mechanics and equipment
- Maintain a clean, comfortable environment and follow infection control practices
- Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through clear, respectful communication
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to deliver consistent, high-quality care
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification valid for Connecticut
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Demonstrated compassionate patient care and strong communication skills
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings (immunizations, TB test as applicable)
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team in a long-term care setting
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program and state certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable assisting with activities of daily living and basic nursing tasks
- Familiarity with resident charting and documentation best practices
- Strong observational skills to notice changes in resident condition
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for working with residents and families
- Teamwork mindset and ability to follow care plans and supervisor direction
