Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
• Perform rapid assessments, triage, and prioritization in a fast-paced ED setting
• Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with protocols
• Collaborate closely with physicians, techs, and support staff to optimize patient outcomes
• Monitor and document patient status, interventions, and responses accurately
• Assist with procedures, stabilize critical patients, and escalate concerns as needed
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up care
• Contribute to a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Hawaii licensure required or eligible)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
• Emergency Department nursing experience preferred (recent acute care experience a plus)
• Comfortable working 12.5-hour shifts in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Strong clinical assessment skills, critical thinking, and ability to multitask
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a patient-centered approach

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency assessment skills
• IV therapy, medication administration, and basic procedural support
• Ability to manage multiple high-acuity patients safely
• Familiarity with documentation best practices and electronic health records
• Effective collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
• Calm decision-making under pressure and strong situational awareness
