Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Primary nights: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (12-hour night shifts). Orientation requires 2-3 day shifts: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM. No set schedules (rotating/variable); must work 4 weekend shifts per schedule (for night shift weekends are Friday & Saturday). Holidays required as needed.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform continuous remote surveillance of cardio-pulmonary rhythms via a central monitoring station
• Recognize, record and report potentially dangerous rhythm changes and arrhythmias promptly
• Follow established protocols to notify local RN staff and escalate emergencies appropriately
• Operate and monitor GE and Ascom monitoring equipment and document events in Cerner
• Maintain clear, professional communication with on-site teams and leadership to support patient safety
• Contribute to department metrics and quality improvement by adhering to standards and best practices

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited program that includes EKG interpretation
• Minimum 2 years of recent related work experience required; 3 years preferred
• BLS certification required
• Must pass the Advanced Dysrhythmia exam prior to accepting assignment (lethal rhythms are pass/fail; one attempt)
• Experience with telemetry monitoring, cardiac rhythm recognition and remote surveillance
• Familiarity with Cerner, GE monitors and Ascom systems preferred
• Ability to commit to the assignment (no other job allowed while on assignment)
• Willingness to work required weekends and holidays and attend mandatory in-person GE team orientation when scheduled

Education

• Graduation from an accredited program including EKG interpretation (required)
• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• EKG interpretation and advanced dysrhythmia recognition
• Telemetry monitoring and central monitoring station operations
• Remote surveillance techniques and alarm/event triage
• Proficiency with Cerner charting and documentation
• Hands-on experience with GE monitors and Ascom communication systems
• Strong communication and emergency notification protocol adherence
• Ability to remain focused across high patient-to-tech ratios (up to ~60 patients)
