Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care across ICU, stepdown and med-surg telemetry units, adapting quickly as you float between areas
• Assess, monitor and intervene for complex patients including post-cath, post-MI and CABG recovery
• Interpret telemetry and ECG strips; identify dysrhythmias and act promptly
• Safely titrate and manage continuous drips including heparin, Cardizem, amiodarone, nitro, dopamine, dobutamine and insulin
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including monitor techs, RTs and charge nurses to deliver coordinated care
• Document patient care accurately in Cerner and follow hospital policies and protocols
• Participate in standby/call coverage and respond to staffing needs during your assigned shift
• Support unit patients and families with compassion and clear communication

Qualifications

• Current RN license eligible to work in Arizona (required)
• ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
• Minimum ICU/critical care experience (job lists 2 years; float pool requires at least 1 year ICU experience)
• Ability to pass dysrhythmia exam (must score 80% within two attempts prior to contract signing)
• Comfortable and experienced with titratable drips and post-procedural cardiac care
• Experience with telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia recognition
• Familiarity with Cerner or similar electronic charting systems preferred
• Must meet facility radius and affiliation rules: within 50 miles and no FT/PT/PRN in CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity facilities in the past year

Education

• Active RN license required
• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry/ECG strip interpretation and dysrhythmia recognition
• Critical care assessment and management
• Intravenous drip titration and vasoactive medication management
• Post-cardiac cath and CABG patient care
• CPAP/BiPAP and heated high flow familiarity
• MedSurg, PCU and stepdown workflows and patient populations
• Electronic health record charting (Cerner noted)
• Strong prioritization, adaptability and float-pool flexibility
