Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency care to patients of all ages
• Perform rapid assessment, triage, and treatment in a fast-paced ED environment
• Collaborate closely with physicians, techs, and other care team members to coordinate timely interventions
• Administer medications, start IVs, and manage emergency procedures according to protocols
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record and communicate changes clearly during handoffs
• Support patient and family education, ensuring clear explanations and compassionate communication
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Hawaii or eligibility for state licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred or willing to obtain
• Previous emergency department or critical care experience preferred (1+ years recommended)
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and perform in high-acuity situations
• Current immunizations and compliance with facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong triage and rapid assessment skills in emergency settings
• Ability to manage multiple high-acuity patients safely
• Familiarity with ED protocols and emergency procedures
• Effective verbal and written communication with team members and patients
• Comfortable using electronic health record systems and accurate documentation
• Calm, decisive critical thinking under pressure
