Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate Med/Surg nursing care to adult patients
• Assess patient conditions and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Monitor and document patient progress, recognizing and reporting changes promptly
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge plans
• Contribute to a positive unit culture by mentoring newer staff and leading by example

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or compact license eligible
• Experience or strong interest in Med/Surg nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced certifications encouraged
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including nights and weekends as needed
• Strong communication, assessment and critical thinking skills
• Professional, dependable, and a team player who puts patients first

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred when available

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of Med/Surg nursing principles and best practices
• Comfortable with medication administration and IV therapy
• Proficient documentation and electronic charting skills
• Skilled at patient assessment, prioritization and time management
• Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists and support staff
