Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents, supporting dignity and comfort
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility)
- Take and record vital signs, report changes promptly to nursing staff
- Document care accurately and timely in resident records
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection-control procedures
- Collaborate with RNs, LPNs and the care team to deliver excellent resident-centered care
- Support mealtime assistance and engage residents in social and therapeutic activities
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (appropriate for Connecticut) — required
- Comfortable providing hands-on resident care in a long-term/skilled nursing setting
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- Reliable, professional, and committed to resident safety and dignity
- Ability to meet facility health and background screening requirements
Education
- CNA certification required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in personal care and assistance with ADLs
- Knowledge of basic infection control and safety procedures
- Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
- Effective interpersonal skills and a compassionate bedside manner
- Basic charting/documentation skills and attention to detail
