Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients
• Perform thorough assessments, developing and implementing individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care and transitions
• Monitor patient status and respond promptly to changes in condition
• Document patient care in the medical record clearly and timely
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge plans
• Support unit goals for quality, safety and patient satisfaction

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse license in Alabama or compact RN licensure as applicable
• Previous medical-surgical nursing experience preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications encouraged
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to work 12-hour shift patterns and adapt to unit scheduling needs

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and best practices
• Familiarity with medication administration and IV therapy
• Proficient in patient assessment, documentation and care planning
• Skilled at prioritization and time management in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and supporting patient education
