Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care on a Med/Surg unit, putting safety and dignity first
• Assess patient status, monitor vital signs and respond promptly to changes in condition
• Administer medications, IV therapy and treatments accurately and document thoroughly
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge instructions
• Maintain clear, timely electronic medical record documentation and handoff communication

Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or ability to obtain state licensure
• Current BLS certification; ACLS and other specialty certifications encouraged
• Clinical experience in Med/Surg preferred; new grads with strong clinical skills are welcome to apply
• Strong assessment, critical thinking and prioritization skills in an acute care setting
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of Med/Surg nursing principles and best practices
• Proficiency with medication administration and IV management
• Comfortable with electronic health record charting and clinical documentation
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient/family education and team collaboration
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced hospital environment while maintaining attention to detail
