Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to med/surg pediatric patients
• Assess patient condition and communicate changes promptly to the care team
• Administer medications and treatments safely and per facility policy
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and execute care plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the medical record
• Support unit operations during shift changes, admissions, and discharges

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — arrangements for Missouri licensure expected for work in St. Louis
• Experience or comfort working on Med/Surg and Pediatric units
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and IV skills
• Excellent communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Ability to handle fast-paced acuity changes and prioritize patient safety

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of med/surg nursing principles and pediatric care considerations
• Ability to interpret vital signs, labs, and clinical trends
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate documentation practices
• Clinical judgment for triage, escalation, and delegation
• Strong patient/family education and bedside manner
