Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (days and nights, schedule varies; 12-hour clinical shifts)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $43 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to Med/Surg patients
Assess patient condition and implement individualized care plans
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care
Monitor and document patient status, changes, and outcomes
Educate patients and families to support recovery and discharge planning
Respond to clinical emergencies and escalate concerns appropriately

Qualifications

Current RN license (Alabama) or compact RN license as applicable
Clinical experience in Medical-Surgical nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred or as required by facility
Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
Ability to handle a fast-paced clinical environment with professionalism

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred where applicable

Knowledge & Skills

Solid understanding of Med/Surg nursing standards and protocols
Skilled in patient assessment, medication administration, and documentation
Familiarity with electronic medical records and charting best practices
Effective communication with patients, families, and clinical teams
Good time management and prioritization in a 12-hour shift setting
