Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming)
Assist with safe patient transfers and mobility support
Measure, record and report vital signs and patient condition changes
Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents
Communicate clearly and professionally with nurses, physicians, residents, and families
Accurately document care and observations in the patient record
Follow infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies consistently

Qualifications

Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (PA preferred or ability to obtain)
Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous experience in long-term care or acute care is a plus; new grads welcomed
Ability to pass background checks and drug screening as required by the facility

Education

Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Strong understanding of ADLs and basic patient care
Comfortable taking and recording vital signs accurately
Good charting and documentation practices; familiarity with EHRs helpful
Infection control and standard precautions knowledge
Excellent communication, empathy, and teamwork
Safe patient handling and basic mobility assistance techniques
