Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate pre-operative nursing care to pediatric patients
Assess and document patient status and pre-op readiness clearly and timely
Collaborate with surgical teams, anesthesiology, and family members to ensure smooth handoffs
Educate caregivers and patients on pre-op instructions and expectations
Prepare patients physically and emotionally for procedures with empathy and professionalism
Participate in orientation and unit-based training to maintain high standards of care

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Missouri licensure required or ability to obtain)
Experience or interest in pre-op and pediatric nursing (Peds) settings
Comfort working in a fast-paced surgical/procedural environment
Willingness to complete facility orientation and required training

Knowledge & Skills

Strong pediatric assessment and communication skills
Ability to educate and support families during pre-operative visits
Attention to detail with documentation and pre-op checklists
Teamwork-oriented approach and effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
