Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (day and night coverage; specific start/end times to be provided by facility)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on the Med/Surg unit
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing interventions for assigned patients
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate safe, efficient care
Administer medications and treatments accurately and document thoroughly
Monitor patient status and respond promptly to changes, escalating concerns as needed
Educate patients and families to support safe transitions and recovery

Qualifications

Current, active Registered Nurse license in Louisiana (required)
Clinical experience in Medical/Surgical nursing; comfortable with 12-hour shift rotations
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS or other certifications preferred
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
Compliance with facility onboarding requirements (e.g., immunizations, background checks)

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid knowledge of Med/Surg patient care principles and best practices
Proficiency with electronic health records and accurate charting
Skilled at medication administration and safe documentation
Strong prioritization and time-management in a 12-hour shift environment
Excellent teamwork and patient/family communication skills
