Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency care to patients of all ages
• Perform rapid assessments and triage to prioritize urgent needs
• Initiate and manage emergency interventions, including medication administration and advanced life support as needed
• Collaborate closely with physicians, techs and the interdisciplinary team to deliver coordinated care
• Document assessments, interventions and patient responses accurately and timely
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and follow-up care
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives to improve patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or eligibility for licensure (compact RN may be acceptable depending on state rules)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) strongly preferred or required by facility
• Previous Emergency Department experience preferred; new grads with strong ED clinical exposure may be considered
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize care effectively
• Strong teamwork, communication and critical thinking skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage principles and emergency assessment skills
• Cardiac monitoring, IV start and medication administration
• Familiarity with common ED procedures and protocols
• Accurate clinical documentation and EMR navigation
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and make timely decisions
