Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality telemetry nursing care for neuroscience and med-surg patients
• Perform NIH stroke scale assessments and respond to neurologic changes
• Initiate IVs and perform Foley insertions when indicated
• Monitor cardiac telemetry and intervene according to protocols
• Document care accurately in Cerner EMR and communicate clearly with the interdisciplinary team
• Support safe patient ratios and collaborate with charge nurses, CNAs, and unit clerks

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing (required)
• ACLS certification required
• NIH stroke scale certification required
• Minimum 2+ years of clinical experience, telemetry or med-surg preferred
• Comfortable with IV starts and Foley insertion
• Experience with Cerner EMR is a plus
• Outgoing, self-motivated attitude and strong teamwork skills
• Neuro experience preferred but not mandatory

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Neuro assessment including NIH stroke scale
• Cardiac life support and ACLS protocols
• Med-surg procedures and bedside skills
• Electronic charting in Cerner
• Effective patient and family communication
• Prioritization and critical thinking in a fast-paced unit
