Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care to adult ICU patients
• Assess and monitor patients’ hemodynamic and respiratory status continuously
• Administer medications, titrate drips, and manage advanced life support measures
• Operate and manage ventilators and other ICU-specific equipment safely
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families with clarity and empathy about conditions and care
• Document patient care accurately and promptly to support continuity and quality
• Respond rapidly to emergencies and escalate concerns to physicians as needed

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama or eligible for Alabama licensure
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) strongly preferred
• Previous ICU or critical care nursing experience preferred (typical target: 1–2+ years)
• Comfort with ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and vasoactive drips
• Strong clinical judgment, effective communication skills, and teamwork mindset

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care assessment and clinical decision-making
• Ventilator management and respiratory care knowledge
• IV medication administration and titration of continuous infusions
• Familiarity with hemodynamic monitoring and telemetry
• Electronic medical record documentation and charting accuracy
• Effective teamwork, delegation, and interdisciplinary collaboration
