Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care on a med-surg telemetry unit, monitoring and responding to telemetry changes
• Perform timely assessments and document findings in Cerner using the unit’s Tap-and-Go workflow
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and prepare patients for procedures (Endoscopy, IR, OR)
• Act as a reliable team player during busy day shifts, supporting CNAs, HUCs and the charge nurse as needed
• Communicate clearly with patients and families to educate and ease transitions in care
• Adhere to unit policies and contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Current RN license (state-appropriate) and willingness to practice in North Carolina
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2+ years clinical experience (telemetry/med-surg experience preferred)
• Demonstrated experience with medical telemetry monitoring and patient observation
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• CMSRN certification encouraged and leadership/charge nurse experience is a plus
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and contributing to a collaborative team

Education

• BSN preferred (unit lists BSN as a preferred qualification)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry monitoring skills and rhythm recognition
• Proficiency with Cerner Patient Observation (CPO) and electronic documentation workflows
• Familiarity with VC150 units and remote telemetry monitoring systems
• Solid clinical assessment, prioritization, and time management
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to adapt to unit staffing grids and float to sister med-surge units as needed
