Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate care to critically ill oncology and BMT patients on a 2:1 ratio
• Manage and titrate drips and vasoactive medications safely and accurately
• Operate and troubleshoot ventilators, BiPAP therapy, and other advanced respiratory support
• Perform tracheostomy care, dressing changes, and total care for complex patients
• Initiate and manage CRRT when indicated and collaborate with the dialysis team
• Document care precisely in Meditech EMR and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary team
• Support unit readiness by floating to other ICUs, PCU, and BMT as needed

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure (able to practice in Texas or compact license where applicable)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience (strong ICU background required)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
• Hands-on experience with ventilator management, drip titration, and A-line/IV pump care
• CRRT and transplant experience (kidney, pancreas, liver) preferred
• Comfortable working night shifts and rotating weekends with a collaborative attitude

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing principles and total care for the critically ill patient
• Ventilator management and BiPAP experience
• Drip titration and vasoactive medication expertise
• Tracheostomy care and advanced wound/dressing management
• Familiarity with CRRT and hemodynamic monitoring (Flow-trak, A-line)
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR and accurate clinical documentation
• Strong teamwork, communication, and rapport with physicians and multidisciplinary staff
