Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess orthopedic patients and monitor clinical status before and after procedures
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary team members
• Provide focused post-operative care, pain management, and wound assessments
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress in the medical record
• Educate patients and families on post-op care, mobility, and discharge planning
• Promote patient safety, infection control, and best-practice orthopedic protocols

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) credential
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (job lists Experience: 2)
• Prior experience or comfort working in Orthopedic Surgery or ortho units
• Travel nurse experience or flexibility to adapt quickly to new clinical settings
• Current basic life support (BLS) certification (recommended/commonly required)

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of orthopedic post-operative care and mobility protocols
• Skilled in medication administration, IV therapy, and pain management
• Proficient with documentation and electronic medical records
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in surgical environments
• Ability to prioritize care in a fast-paced perioperative/post-op setting
