Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert critical care nursing for adult ICU patients, managing ventilators and advanced respiratory support
• Perform telemetry monitoring and interpret cardiac rhythms to guide timely interventions
• Manage central lines, assist with blood transfusions, and follow strict infection control practices
• Carry out complex procedures such as therapeutic phlebotomy and assist with physician-led paracentesis
• Safely manage chest tubes, NG tubes, wound VACs and post-dialysis assessments with precision
• Document patient care accurately in Meditech Expanse and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team
• Prioritize patient-centered care, advocate for patients and families, and contribute to positive patient experiences

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing (compact accepted if applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• NIH certification (must be current/renewed annually)
• Comfortable with ventilator management, central line care, blood transfusions, and telemetry
• Familiarity with Meditech Expanse or similar electronic documentation systems

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and advanced respiratory support (CPAP/BiPAP, BiPAP competency)
• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Central line care, port access, and blood transfusion procedures
• Therapeutic phlebotomy and assistance with paracentesis (physician-led)
• Chest tube, NG tube, wound VAC, and drain management
• Post-dialysis assessment skills
• Proficiency with Meditech Expanse documentation and Philips telemetry equipment
• Strong clinical judgment, prioritization, and interdisciplinary communication
