Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and toileting
Take and record vital signs and communicate changes in condition to nursing staff
Support mobility and safe transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
Maintain accurate documentation and report observations promptly
Help create a warm, social environment by engaging residents in conversation and activities

Qualifications

Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or state-equivalent credential
Basic life support (BLS) / CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
Demonstrated ability to provide patient-centered care in a long-term care setting
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well on a care team
Background check and any required state licensure/clearances completed

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
Completion of an approved GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of geriatrics and common age-related conditions
Skill assisting with activities of daily living and mobility support
Familiarity with infection control practices and safe patient handling
Comfortable with basic charting and reporting clinical observations
Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
