Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care at every patient encounter
• Rapidly assess, triage, and prioritize patients in a fast-paced ED environment
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and emergency interventions safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly and timely
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license (ability to obtain/transfer to NC licensure or use compact license if eligible)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department nursing experience
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred
• Current immunizations and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements
• Ability to work 12-hour overnight shifts and adapt quickly to a travel assignment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong triage and rapid assessment skills for emergency presentations
• Proficiency with IV starts, medication administration, and emergency protocols
• Excellent clinical judgment, critical thinking, and prioritization under pressure
• Clear, compassionate communication with patients, families, and the care team
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and timely documentation
• Team-oriented mindset and ability to stay calm in high-acuity situations
