Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms to detect and escalate abnormalities promptly
• Manage cardiac medication titration and continuous drips (phenylephrine, dobutamine, milrinone, amiodarone, nitroglycerin, etc.) safely and accurately
• Provide epidural and chest tube management, ensuring patient comfort and device integrity
• Administer tube feedings and IV therapies using Baxter and CADD pumps with proper documentation
• Document all assessments, interventions and medications clearly in Cerner EMR
• Collaborate with surgeons, intensivists and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate post-op care
• Educate patients and families on recovery milestones, discharge planning and self-care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) credential
• ACLS and BLS required
• Minimum 2+ years clinical experience (experience in stepdown/telemetry strongly emphasized)
• Prior experience with cardiac/vascular surgery populations or CVICU is highly preferred
• Comfortable with advanced cardiac drips, epidurals, chest tubes and IV pump management
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and adapt to rotating schedules

Education

• Active RN license required; specific degree (ADN/BSN) not specified in posting

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation

• Tube feedings and IV pump operation (Baxter, CADD)
• Experience using Cerner EMR for accurate documentation
