Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality screening and diagnostic mammography exams using digital mammography and tomosynthesis
• Position patients accurately and perform image acquisition, magnification and spot-compression views to ensure diagnostic clarity
• Assist with stereotactic biopsies, pre-surgical localizations, and contrast-enhanced mammography procedures under unit protocols
• Demonstrate and present complex cases to radiologists with confidence and clear communication
• Maintain meticulous documentation in Cerner and Penrad, ensuring MQSA compliance and accurate patient records
• Provide mindful, compassionate care to women with cancer histories and others in sensitive circumstances
• Float to other breast centers as required and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient flow
• Participate in ongoing training and maintain required mammography continuing education

Qualifications

• Current ARRT (R) and ARRT (M) Mammography certification (required)
• Minimum 2+ years' mammography experience (screening and diagnostic)
• MQSA-compliant training: initial 40 hours of mammography, continuing education, 200 exams/2 years, and specific digital/tomosynthesis training (8 hours each) or willingness to complete onsite
• IV certification and competency in sterile/invasive procedures for interventional work
• Current BLS certification
• Comfortable with patient-centered care in a women’s imaging center and able to float between sites

Education

• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program or equivalent (typical requirement)
• ARRT (R) and ARRT (M) certification required; MQSA training and documented competency required

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in screening and diagnostic mammography and breast imaging principles
• Proficient with digital tomosynthesis and digital mammography workflows
• Skilled in magnification, spot compression, and advanced positioning techniques
• Experience assisting with stereotactic biopsies, pre-surgical localization, and contrast-enhanced studies
• Familiarity with MQSA standards and maintaining imaging volume requirements
• Competent using Cerner and Penrad documentation systems
• Experience with GE Senographe Pristina equipment
• Strong patient communication, case presentation to radiologists, and teamwork skills
