Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage and troubleshoot mechanical ventilators and provide expert ventilator management for critically ill patients
• Assist with bedside bronchoscopies and provide skilled airway support during procedures
• Obtain and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) to guide respiratory care plans
• Document patient assessments, treatments and ventilator settings accurately in Meditech
• Collaborate with ICU multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient-centered respiratory plans
• Maintain competency on unit equipment (PB840, PB980, V60, Hamilton C1, MR1) and ensure safe device use
• Function independently when needed while contributing to a cohesive, high-performing respiratory team

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience (per job posting)
• Experience with mechanical ventilation and ABG analysis
• Comfortable assisting with bedside bronchoscopy and other ICU respiratory procedures
• Previous travel experience preferred; ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced unit

Knowledge & Skills

• Mechanical ventilation and ventilator management
• Familiarity with PB840, PB980 ventilators and BiPAP V60
• Experience with Hamilton C1 and MR1 ventilator platforms
• Bedside bronchoscopy assistance and airway management
• Arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and interpretation
• Clinical documentation in Meditech
• Strong independent clinical judgment and critical thinking
• Effective teamwork and communication in ICU settings
