Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical ventilation and optimize ventilator settings for critically ill patients
• Perform ABG collection and analysis to guide respiratory interventions
• Provide trach care and assist with intubation when needed
• Deliver high flow oxygen therapy, bronchodilator therapy, and airway clearance treatments
• Respond rapidly and effectively to code blue situations and emergency calls
• Safely transport patients and monitor respiratory status during transfers
• Document assessments and interventions accurately in Meditech
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and implement patient-centered respiratory plans

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) required
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS preferred
• Minimum ICU experience preferred (one year ICU experience preferred by unit)
• Demonstrated competency with mechanical ventilation and advanced airway management
• Comfortable working night shifts and meeting a 36-hour/week scheduling requirement
• Familiarity with Drager ventilators, Phillips V60, Vapotherm, Metaneb, and Meditech documentation

Knowledge & Skills

• Mechanical ventilation and ventilator management
• ABG collection and interpretation
• Trach care and intubation assist
• High-flow oxygen therapy and bronchodilator administration
• Airway clearance techniques and patient transport safety
• Rapid assessment and critical event response (code blue)
• Experience using Drager, Phillips V60, Vapotherm, Metaneb equipment
• Documentation proficiency in Meditech
