Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality postpartum and mother baby nursing care to mothers and newborns
• Monitor maternal and neonatal status, recognizing changes and escalating concerns promptly
• Administer medications and therapies safely, including management of patients on magnesium sulfate
• Perform newborn procedures and routine care such as circumcisions and bilirubin management
• Document care accurately in Cerner and maintain clear, timely communication with the interdisciplinary team
• Teach and support new parents on newborn care, breastfeeding, discharge planning and follow-up

Qualifications

• Current RN license (state of practice) required
• Minimum 2+ years clinical nursing experience, Mother Baby/postpartum experience required
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• STABLE certification preferred
• Comfortable caring for postpartum patients and newborns, including those receiving magnesium sulfate
• Travel nursing experience is a plus and flexibility to float to L&D and NICU

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of postpartum and newborn care practices and protocols
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic medical record documentation
• Experience using Alaris infusion pumps and neonatal equipment such as bilirubin lights
• Ability to manage patient ratios typically around 1:3-4 couplets
• Team-player mindset with strong teaching and communication skills
