Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor PCU patients with skill and compassion, responding to changes quickly
• Manage and administer medications and IV therapies safely and accurately
• Interpret telemetry and cardiac monitoring to identify and escalate critical findings
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members to create smooth patient transitions
• Provide clear, timely documentation in the medical record to support continuity of care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge plans
• Triages and responds to urgent patient needs, ensuring safety and quality outcomes
• Contribute to unit-based quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience (experience in PCU or progressive care preferred)
• Comfortable working evening to overnight shifts (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, telemetry interpretation and IV/medication skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills for fast-paced unit collaboration

Knowledge & Skills

• Progressive care/PCU clinical skills and telemetry monitoring
• Patient assessment, prioritization and critical thinking
• IV therapy and medication administration best practices
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Ability to coordinate care across multidisciplinary teams
• Strong situational awareness and emergency response skills
