Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse, high-volume patient population
• Assess, triage and prioritize patients quickly and accurately in a fast-paced ED
• Collaborate closely with physicians, techs and unit staff to coordinate patient care
• Coach and give real-time feedback to support team performance and patient safety
• Document care and clinical findings using Cerner with accuracy and timeliness
• Operate and monitor essential equipment such as Baxter pumps and GE monitors
• Support patient experience initiatives like AIDET and keep patients and families informed
• Participate in stroke and trauma protocols including NIHSS assessments when indicated

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (state licensure or eligible for travel licensure)
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience, with at least 1 year of ER experience
• Experience in Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, and high-volume ED (preferred)
• Required certifications before start: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
• ENPC to be completed within 90 days of hire
• Strong teamwork mindset, ability to coach and provide feedback, and flexibility to work across ED sections
• Previous HCA experience preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing best practices and rapid triage skills
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic documentation
• Familiarity with Baxter infusion pumps and GE monitoring systems
• Comfort working with high patient ratios typical of a busy ED
• Skills in stroke assessment (NIHSS) and trauma care workflows
• Excellent communication, patient experience focus, and cultural sensitivity
