Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality pediatric critical care in the PICU, monitoring and responding to changes in condition
• Administer medications and intravenous therapies accurately and safely
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans
• Perform thorough assessments and document patient status and interventions in the medical record
• Support and educate families with compassion during stressful times
• Participate in unit-based safety and improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure — North Carolina licensure or compact RN acceptable
• Minimum 2+ years of PICU or pediatric critical care experience
• Current BLS certification; PALS and specialty certifications are highly valued
• Ability to work overnight critical care shifts with strong clinical judgment and resilience

Education

• Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ADN/BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Pediatric critical care principles and bedside assessment skills
• Experience with advanced monitoring and infusion/medication management
• Familiarity with ventilator and respiratory support management in pediatric patients
• Strong documentation and electronic health record skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork in high-pressure situations
