Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert vancomycin, aminoglycoside and anticoagulant dosing to optimize patient outcomes
• Verify medications and ensure safe, accurate dispensing using Pyxis, Dose Edge and Pak Edge
• Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians, including oversight of sterile IV compounding
• Conduct pain consults and collaborate with clinical teams to manage complex pain regimens
• Perform first-dose reviews and maintain emergency medication boxes to support rapid response
• Document and manage medication orders in the Meditech EMR to ensure seamless continuity of care

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School (required)
• Licensed to practice Pharmacy in Missouri (MO) (required)
• Minimum 2 years of pharmacy experience (as listed in the job details)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications preferred
• NICU experience is a plus for candidates with neonatal exposure
• Proven experience supervising pharmacy technicians and working with automated dispensing systems

Education

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of antimicrobial and anticoagulation dosing protocols (vancomycin, aminoglycosides, anticoagulants)
• Skilled in medication verification workflows and sterile compounding verification
• Familiarity with Dose Edge, Pak Edge, Pyxis and Meditech EMR
• Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork in an inpatient setting
• Ability to manage priorities across decentralized and main pharmacy environments
