Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy assessments and individualized treatment plans to improve patients’ functional independence
• Deliver evidence-based interventions focused on ADLs, mobility, upper-extremity function, and adaptive equipment needs
• Document clinical findings, progress, and discharge planning accurately in EPIC
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams across Livingston and Washtenaw counties to coordinate patient-centered care
• Perform and maintain Trinity-specific competency testing and skills checklist requirements
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers to support safe discharge and home/community reintegration
• Participate in required health screenings and maintain mandatory vaccinations and certifications

Qualifications

• Active Occupational Therapy license required (state license verification will be completed)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Experience with EPIC documentation preferred or demonstrated ability to learn quickly
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Ability to pass required pre-employment screenings: 10-panel drug screen, respirator evaluation/fit test, TB testing (2-step PPD or IGRA), and standard immunizations (MMR, Varicella, Tdap, COVID-19, Hep B, Influenza)
• Current physical/health statement and compliance with employer health requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical knowledge of occupational therapy evaluation and intervention strategies
• Comfortable documenting and navigating patient records in EPIC
• Skilled in ADL training, adaptive equipment recommendations, and home safety evaluations
• Excellent communication and teamwork across multi-disciplinary care teams
• Ability to manage caseloads across settings in Livingston and Washtenaw counties
