Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the Physical Therapy department, providing hands-on clinical leadership and mentorship to staff
• Develop and implement individualized therapy programs using manual therapy, exercise therapy and therapeutic modalities
• Administer and oversee treatments including electrical stimulation, iontophoresis, ultrasound, intermittent pneumatic compression, taping, traction and gait training
• Assess patients, create treatment plans, document progress and consult with physicians on long-term care goals
• Schedule patients, prepare periodic and monthly reports, and coordinate with front office and rehab aides for smooth operations
• Manage the department budget, order supplies and equipment, and ensure cost-effective resource use
• Supervise clinical practice of students and provide teaching/mentoring to staff to maintain high clinical standards
• Participate in quality improvement activities and ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational policies

Qualifications

• Graduation from a School of Physical Therapy accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association
• Current Washington State Physical Therapy license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum five years of practical physical therapy experience
• Minimum three years of management experience in a Rehab Therapy department
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and organizational policies
• Reliable communication skills and ability to respond to emails and complete mandatory education on time

Education

• Graduation from a School of Physical Therapy accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in manual therapy and exercise therapy techniques
• Skilled with therapeutic modalities: electrical stimulation, ultrasound, iontophoresis, intermittent pneumatic compression, taping and traction
• Experience with gait training, wheelchair and assistive device assessment, balance re-education and patient education
• Strong documentation, patient assessment and treatment planning skills
• Teaching and mentoring experience, plus involvement in quality improvement
• Budgeting, scheduling and basic mathematical/analytical abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
