Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Plant Operations, Environmental Services and Grounds, directing both direct and indirect staff
• Supervise and develop approximately 45 FTEs across maintenance and support divisions
• Ensure continuous operation of utility systems (heat, steam, power, gas, oxygen) necessary for patient care
• Oversee preventative maintenance programs and ensure equipment is maintained per manufacturer recommendations
• Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and hospital policies, including NFPA, OSHA, EPA and CMS
• Manage outside contractors and ensure contractor compliance with facility standards and regulations
• Act as a collaborative liaison with other departments to assess needs and develop action plans
• Develop job-specific customer service expectations, training plans, and follow-up processes for staff and stakeholders
• Troubleshoot and lead repair efforts by applying engineering principles to detect and fix malfunctioning equipment or systems

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration or related field preferred
• Minimum 5+ years of personnel management experience
• Proven knowledge of electricity, electronics, plumbing, carpentry, boiler operation, HVAC and general building maintenance
• Experience with autoclaving, bio-waste handling and life safety codes
• Familiarity with construction phasing and environmental services operations
• Ability to apply engineering principles to diagnose and repair building systems
• Willingness to relocate to a rural community

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration or related field (preferred)
