Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts including Days 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM and Nights 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM; rotating schedule with every-other weekend requirement and alternating holidays. Team/block scheduling options available; may float between ER and MedSurg.

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $61 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in a rural ER and MedSurg setting
• Administer IV medications, blood products and titratable drips safely and per protocols
• Interpret telemetry strips and take appropriate action to keep patients stable
• Provide compassionate geriatric and dementia-informed care for older adults
• Collaborate with CNAs, RTs and the charge nurse to deliver team nursing and excellent patient outcomes
• Document care and clinical decision-making clearly and efficiently in EPIC
• Manage initial trauma care in a critical access environment and coordinate transfers when needed
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and post-discharge plans

Qualifications

• Active RN license valid for practice in the state of North Dakota
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC
• Minimum of 2 years of recent clinical nursing experience
• Comfortable with EPIC charting and accurate documentation
• Proven ability to titrate drips, administer IV antibiotics and manage blood transfusions
• Experience with telemetry interpretation and team nursing models
• Ability to provide sensitive geriatric care including dementia and skin care needs

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or nursing diploma accepted; BSN not required
• Active RN license required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills in acute and emergency settings
• Telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• IV therapy, IV medication administration and drip titration
• Blood transfusion protocols and safety checks
• Geriatric care best practices including dementia and skin care
• Wound care and rehabilitation support for post-acute patients
• Familiarity with CPAP troubleshooting and working with respiratory therapists
• Effective teamwork and communication in high-acuity rural hospitals
