Roles & Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver high-quality nursing care for critically ill patients across adolescent to geriatric populations
• Coordinate care across disciplines for medical, surgical, cardiac, and neurosurgical patients
• Maintain professional nursing standards and ensure best-practice patient care
• Supervise and mentor assigned CNA/SNA, LPNs and other health care team members
• Perform thorough assessments, implement care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes in ICU and Step-down settings
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to support continuity of care

Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license required (MI license must be active at time of submission; provide LARA and Nursys verification)
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2+ years of ICU experience — required
• Travel experience preferred
• Skills checklist for RN specialties completed within the last year is required for submission
• If any license issues exist, provide a brief write-up for manager review
• Full-time employees of McLaren not eligible for contract hire within six months of employment (per facility policy)

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing best practices and ICU workflows
• Step-down/SDU patient management and acuity transitions
• Cardiac and neurosurgical patient care experience
• Medical-surgical nursing foundations applicable to critical care
• Patient supervision and team leadership (CNA/LPN oversight)
• ACLS and BLS application in emergent scenarios
• Ability to float between ICU and Step-down units seamlessly
