Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care on the MS/Tele unit, managing patients at a 1:5-6 ratio
• Continuously monitor telemetry and promptly identify and manage dysrhythmias
• Administer medications, blood products, and IV therapies safely and accurately
• Perform pre/post hemodialysis and renal-related patient care in collaboration with dialysis teams
• Care for complex lines and devices including central lines, PICCs, ports and chest tubes
• Respond as an active member of Rapid Response and Code teams when needed
• Document thoroughly and efficiently in Epic to maintain accurate, real-time patient records
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (Respiratory, PT, Pharmacy, etc.) to coordinate exceptional patient care

Qualifications

• Active RN license (North Carolina) — pending licenses are NOT accepted
• Minimum 2 years MS/Telemetry experience required
• Travel nursing experience required (facility accepts travelers; system has contract limits)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Comfortable with floating between like units as needed
• Ability to work night shifts and every-other-weekend schedule
• Previous charge or teaching hospital experience is preferred
• Epic charting experience required; strong documentation skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac monitoring expertise
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, and start/maintenance of IVs
• Hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis familiarity; pre/post dialysis care
• Respiratory skills including HFNC and tracheostomy care
• Central line, PICC, and port management; blood product administration
• Wound care including Wound Vac, isolation precautions and PPE
• Rapid Response/Code team participation and emergency response
• Proficient in Epic electronic charting
