Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to patients in the Uptown Health/Rehab area
• Administer medications and treatments accurately while monitoring patient responses
• Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary team
• Document care clearly and promptly in the patient record to ensure continuity
• Collaborate with therapists, physicians, and support staff to create and follow individualized care plans
• Support patient and family education, discharge planning, and transitions of care
• Maintain infection control standards and ensure a safe environment for patients and staff

Qualifications

• Current LPN or RN license (Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse) — New Mexico licensure or eligibility required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS/PALS if applicable to the unit
• Comfortable working 12+ hour night shifts and handling the pace of a rehab/acute care environment
• Strong clinical judgment, effective communication skills, and a patient-first attitude
• Previous experience in rehab, long-term care, or acute care preferred

Education

• LPN: Vocational/Practical Nursing diploma or equivalent
• RN: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in medication administration, wound care, and basic nursing procedures
• Proficient in patient assessment and identifying changes in condition
• Experience with charting and maintaining accurate clinical documentation
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
• Good time management and prioritization during busy night shifts
