Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Monitor and record vital signs and changes in patient condition with accuracy
- Support mobility and transfers safely, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Document care and observations clearly in the patient record
- Communicate effectively with nurses and the care team to ensure continuity of care
- Maintain infection control and safety standards to protect residents and staff
- Help create a warm, respectful environment that preserves resident dignity
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification in Pennsylvania (required)
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or ability to obtain
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
- Comfortable with direct patient care and physical demands of the role
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Prior experience in long-term care or acute care is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assisting with ADLs (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
- Knowledge of basic infection control practices and patient safety
- Comfortable taking and recording vitals and observations
- Good documentation and time-management skills
- Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills for resident-centered care
