Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on therapeutic care under the direction of physical therapists to help patients regain mobility and independence
• Implement individualized treatment plans, document progress, and communicate changes to the PT and care team
• Assist with therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfers, and use of assistive devices
• Monitor patient responses and safety during treatments, adjusting interventions as needed
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and strategies to support recovery
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care

Qualifications

• Current PTA license or certification (state licensure required or eligibility to obtain prior to start)
• BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced rehab environment with adults of varying needs
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Available to start on 2026-03-23 for a 14-week contract through 2026-06-22

Education

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Graduation from an accredited PTA program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in therapeutic exercise prescription and gait training
• Knowledgeable about transfers, positioning, and use of assistive devices
• Proficient with documentation best practices and progress reporting
• Excellent patient education and motivational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with therapists, nursing, and ancillary staff
