Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients by assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
• Measure and document vital signs and report changes to the nursing team promptly
• Support patient mobility and transfer safely using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
• Communicate clearly and kindly with patients and families to promote dignity and comfort
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to deliver excellent patient-centered care
• Accurately document care and observations to ensure continuity and quality of care

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
• Valid CNA authorization or registry in Pennsylvania (or ability to transfer/obtain)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Background check and immunizations as required by facility
• Strong communication skills, reliability, and a patient-first attitude
• Previous long-term care or acute care experience is a plus, but new CNAs are welcome

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Completed state-approved CNA training program and certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of fundamental nursing assistant duties and patient care principles
• Ability to safely assist with transfers and use patient handling equipment
• Comfortable taking and recording vital signs accurately
• Good observational skills to recognize changes in patient condition
• Teamwork, time management, and basic charting/documentation skills
• Compassionate bedside manner and respect for patient dignity
