Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, competent nursing care as a Licensed Practical Nurse on the overnight shift.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately while following facility policies.
• Monitor patient conditions, document changes, and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and bedside procedures while maintaining patient dignity.
• Support care planning and report significant findings to charge nurses and providers.
• Deliver patient and family education with patience and clarity to improve outcomes and comfort.

Qualifications

• Current LPN license in good standing (WV or compact status if applicable).
• Minimum clinical experience as an LPN preferred (specific years not stated).
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required or obtained upon hire.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently on overnight shifts and prioritize patient needs.
• Local candidate (LOCAL ONLY) — must be able to reliably commute to Pocahontas Center/Genesis - East Region.

Education

• Licensed Practical Nurse diploma or certificate from an accredited program.

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong medication administration and documentation skills.
• Good assessment and clinical judgment on overnight care needs.
• Comfortable with electronic medical records and charting.
• Excellent communication and teamwork with nursing staff and providers.
• Ability to respond calmly in urgent situations and escalate appropriately.
