Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy interventions under the direction of the supervising PT to help patients regain mobility and independence
• Deliver therapeutic exercises, gait training and functional activities tailored to each patient
• Monitor patient progress, document treatments accurately and communicate changes to the care team
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safe mobility techniques
• Collaborate with therapists, nurses and case managers to support continuity of care
• Maintain a safe treatment environment and adhere to infection control and facility protocols

Qualifications

• Current Physical Therapist Assistant license in California or compact-state eligibility
• Graduate of an accredited PTA program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; CPR certification preferred
• Experience in inpatient rehab, outpatient orthopedics, or subacute settings is a plus
• Ability to work all scheduled days including weekends as required by the assignment
• Up-to-date immunizations, TB screening and ability to pass background checks

Education

• Associate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Completion of state licensure requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in therapeutic exercise prescription and progression
• Proficient with gait training, transfers and use of assistive devices
• Familiarity with documentation systems and outcome-driven charting
• Strong clinical reasoning and safety-focused patient handling
• Excellent communication and patient education skills
• Team-oriented approach with ability to collaborate across disciplines
