Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to residents and patients during overnight shifts
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately within scope of practice
• Monitor and document vital signs, changes in condition, and resident responses
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure continuity of care
• Perform wound care, dressing changes, and other assigned clinical procedures
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharge processes when required
• Maintain accurate, timely charting in the facility’s documentation system
• Support and educate residents and families with clear, empathetic communication

Qualifications

• Active LPN license in West Virginia (required)
• Current BLS/CPR certification (required)
• Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing/Vocational Nursing program
• Up-to-date immunizations and TB testing per facility policy
• Comfortable working overnight shifts and participating in a rotating weekend schedule
• Strong communication, teamwork, and time-management skills

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing / Vocational Nursing program

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration and accurate documentation
• Basic patient assessment and focused clinical observations
• Infection control practices and standard precautions
• Familiarity with long-term care or skilled nursing workflows
• Comfort using electronic health records and charting systems
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a busy overnight clinical environment
• Compassionate resident-centered care and clear family communication
