Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor and record vital signs and any changes in patient condition accurately and promptly
• Assist with safe transfers, mobility, and positioning to support patient safety and comfort
• Maintain clear, professional communication with nurses and the interdisciplinary care team
• Follow infection control protocols and facility policies to protect patients and coworkers
• Document care and observations thoroughly in the resident record to support care continuity
• Support a positive resident experience by responding to needs with empathy and respect

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification valid in New Mexico
• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an approved CNA program
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable and experienced with overnight 12-hour shifts or eager to learn the rhythm
• Strong communication skills, a team-oriented mindset, and a commitment to resident dignity

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of an approved CNA training program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs: bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting, and mobility support
• Knowledge of vital sign measurement and basic clinical observation
• Familiarity with infection control practices and safe patient handling
• Comfortable using electronic documentation systems or paper charting
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a care team
• Good time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs during busy shifts
