Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patient condition to ensure safe, high-quality care
- Administer medications and treatments according to orders and protocols
- Document care accurately in the patient record and communicate changes to the team
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and update care plans
- Provide patient and family education with compassion and clarity
- Maintain a safe, organized environment and adhere to infection control practices
- Support admissions, discharges, and smooth transitions of care
Qualifications
- Current LPN or RN licensure (eligible or active) in New Mexico
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications encouraged
- Current immunizations and ability to pass background and drug screening
- Ability to work a 12+ hour day shift (6:00 AM - 6:30 PM) and manage a full patient load
- Strong communication, clinical judgment, and teamwork skills
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (LPN or ADN/BSN)
- High school diploma or equivalent for LPN pathway; RN requires completion of nursing degree program
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and documentation best practices
- Patient assessment and vital sign monitoring
- Wound care and basic procedures commonly seen in acute and rehab settings
- Charting in electronic medical records with attention to detail
- Prioritization, time management, and effective handoff communication
