Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents and patients
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and toileting
- Support safe patient mobility and transfers with proper technique
- Take and document vital signs and report changes to the nursing team
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records and shift reports
- Help create a comfortable, dignified environment for patients
- Communicate effectively with nurses, therapists, and families to coordinate care
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification or state-appropriate credential (bring licensure documentation)
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required based on facility policy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-first mindset
- Ability to follow care plans and work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Reliable attendance and ability to work the scheduled shift times
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an approved CNA program and active certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Fundamentals of patient care and infection control
- Basic vital signs assessment and reporting
- Safe body mechanics and transfer techniques
- Familiarity with charting and documentation best practices
- Teamwork, empathy, and strong observational skills
