Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care during overnight hours
• Assess and monitor patients, promptly recognizing and reporting changes
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately per orders
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and ensure smooth handoffs
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge plans
• Support a positive unit culture by mentoring colleagues and contributing to improvements

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in New Mexico or eligibility for state licensure
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS or other advanced certifications preferred
• Experience with med administration, IV therapy, and overnight acute care preferred
• Current immunizations and ability to meet facility background checks and health requirements
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently on night shift

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN for RN roles)
• For LPN roles, graduation from an accredited practical nursing program

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and critical thinking to prioritize care overnight
• Medication administration and IV management
• Electronic health record (EHR) documentation and charting accuracy
• Infection control practices and safety-focused care
• Teamwork, clear communication, and patient education skills
